7 new Covid-19 community cases in S'pore on May 8

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 20 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore as of 12pm on Saturday (May 8).

This brings the total number of cases to 61,331.

There are seven new cases of locally-transmitted Covid-19 infection. Based on MOH's investigations so far, the cases are in the community, and there are no new cases in the dormitories.

Of the seven, two had already been placed on quarantine as they were linked to previous cases.

13 of the cases announced today are imported, and all were placed on Stay-Home Notice or isolated upon arrival in Singapore. Nine of the imported cases are Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents.
