F&B staff from Woodgrove McDonald's & Beach Road bar among unlinked Covid-19 cases in S'pore on May 26

Three unlinked Covid-19 cases were reported by the Ministry of Health (MOH) on May 26.

In total, there were 26 new cases reported today. There are 23 community cases, one dormitory case, and two imported cases.

This brings the total number of cases to 61,916.

Three unlinked cases

Case 63725 is a 58-year-old female Singaporean who works at Chevy’s Bar and Bistro, located at Beach Road.

She developed a fever on May 22 and a runny nose on May 24.

She sought medical treatment at a general practitioner (GP) clinic on May 24, where she underwent both an antigen rapid test (ART) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, and was immediately isolated when her ART result came back positive on the same day.

Her PCR test result came back positive for Covid-19 infection the next day while her serology test result is pending.

She had received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine on May 4.

Case 63738 is a 38-year-old male Malaysian who works at Rong Chang F&B Services Pte Ltd.

He developed fatigue and body aches on May 21, before developing a sore throat and seeking medical treatment at a GP clinic on May 25.

He underwent both an ART and PCR test and was immediately isolated when his ART result came back positive.

His PCR test result came back positive for Covid-19 infection the same day while his serology test result is pending.

Case 63743 is a 24-year-old male Malaysian who works at McDonald’s (The Woodgrove).

He developed a runny nose on May 24 and sought medical treatment at a GP clinic on the same day.

His test result came back positive for Covid-19 infection on May 26; his serology test result is pending.

20 linked community cases

There are 20 new community cases linked to previously reported Covid-19 clusters.

Of these 20 cases:

  • One is linked to the Changi Prison Complex cluster
  • One is linked to the Hong Ye Group cleaners cluster
  • Seven are linked to the JEM and Westgate cluster, including two primary school students, an ITE College West student, and a pastor at Grace Assembly Church.
  • One is linked to the Learning Point cluster
  • One is linked to the Marina Bay Sands casino dealer cluster
  • Two are linked to the McDonald's delivery riders cluster, including a part-time waitress at Collins (Nex) and a service crew at McDonald's (Pasir Ris Elias Community Club)
  • One is linked to the Case 63236 cluster
  • One is linked to the Case 63515 cluster
  • One is linked to the Case 63708 cluster

Four more cases are linked to previously confirmed Covid-19 cases.

The remaining cases announced today include an Indian national residing in a dormitory (Harvest @ Woodlands) and two imported cases – both where placed on SHN upon their arrival in Singapore.

There are now 34 active Covid-19 clusters in Singapore, with the biggest being the Changi Airport Terminal 3 cluster with 108 cases.

31 cases discharged

31 more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

In all, 61,360 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 242 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and two are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

282 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19.

32 have passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection.
