The Ministry of Defence (Mindef) and Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) will progressively roll out Wireless@SG service at some campsites this year.

Eight premises to have Wireless@SG by mid-2021

For a start, the following eight Mindef/SAF sites can expect Wireless@SG to be installed by mid-2021:

  1. Air Force Training Command
  2. Central Manpower Base
  3. Changi Naval Base
  4. Hillview Camp
  5. Jurong Camp II
  6. Kranji Camp II
  7. Mindef Building
  8. Stagmont Camp

This is part of the efforts to enhance digitalisation at Mindef/SAF premises and camps.

The enhanced connectivity will support initiatives such as Smart Camps and Smart Airbases, which utilise smart technologies to improve areas like operating efficiency, administration, security, and user experience, Mindef said in October last year.

Servicemen including Full-time National Servicemen (NSFs) and Operationally Ready National Servicemen (NSmen) will also be able to access the free wireless networks for e-learning and personal administration.

The Wireless@SG networks will be separated from Mindef/SAF's internal networks for cyber and data security.

Other camps and premises will have Wireless@SG installed in the coming years.
