Closed-circuit television footage showing a secondary schoolboy hitting a woman in a home setting has been making the rounds online among those in Singapore.

The video was uploaded to TikTok and subsequently reshared thousands of times on various Facebook pages.

What the video showed

The video, which was very likely filmed in Singapore, showed a boy wearing a Geylang Methodist Secondary School uniform.

The woman, who addressed herself as "Mummy" in the video, was helping the boy with some containers that they carried out from the room into what looked like the living room of a flat.

The boy was seen swearing in the video and even hitting the woman at one point.

Towards the end of the video, the woman lost her composure and shouted at the boy, "Slap la! Slap la! Slap!"

The boy responded, "I tell you how many times already?"

Before the video cut off, the woman replied, "Is this how you treat mummy?"

In response to Mothership's queries, the principal of Geylang Methodist Secondary School, Wee Tat Chuen said: "As the matter is currently under police investigations, we are unable to comment further."

The police have confirmed with Mothership that a report was lodged and investigations are ongoing.

A spokesperson from the Ministry of Social and Family Development told Mothership that they are assessing if the family is in need of assistance. They are unable to comment further as well as the police investigation is ongoing.
