On August 9, a fight occurred at a coffee shop along Hougang Avenue 8.

According to a Facebook video filmed by a witness, the fight began with two groups of people confronting each other, with two men headed towards a table.

The coffee shop appeared to already have been closed.

Shortly after, the sound of crashing glass and screams could be heard.

Two men in white and red shirts dealt blows with another man clad in black, trading blows with mugs and chairs.

A woman could be seen throwing a mug, and later squabbled with another woman while she was being held back by a younger man.

At least four other patrons were watching the fight from several tables away, including one woman who anxiously implored a man who was seated to leave.

The scene got rowdier as the men continued to use chairs and tables as weapons against each other.
