Ex-national footballer Hafiz Rahim passes away at 36 after traffic accident in Tampines

On July 9, players and fans of the local football scene received some saddening news.

Former national footballer, Hafiz Rahim, passed away on the morning of July 9, 2020.

According to The Straits Times, Hafiz was involved in a traffic accident in Tampines and had been on his motorcycle.

He was 36 years old and leaves behind his wife and three children.

Over 200 league appearances

In his career as a footballer, he has notably played for Geylang United, Tampines Rovers, Home United, Gombak United and Warriors FC.

According to the AIA Singapore Premier League, he has had over 200 league appearances.

Some of his achievements include scoring the only and winning goal in the 2009 Singapore Club finals for Geylang United.

And another time, in 2014, he scored another winning goal for Warriors FC that won them the S-League title.
