Contesting parties

This gives all contesting parties 10 days of campaigning before Singapore goes to the polls on July 10.

Polling day is a public holiday so you can head to the ballot boxes in peace to exercise your right to vote.

And voting is compulsory for all Singaporean citizens -- if you do not vote on polling day, and do not have a valid reason for failing to do so, your name will be struck off the Registers of Electors.

Check where you're voting at & the time

Here's a nifty feature on the Elections Department of Singapore (ELD)'s site for you to check where you're voting at.

Simply key in your NRIC.

And you'll see something like this:

You can know which electoral division you're in, where to go on polling day itself, and the time-band you're allocated.

You can even check the queue situation before you make your way down.

And as they say, "vote wisely".
