Covid-19: 648 more cases in S'pore discharged, 218 new cases on June 22

Earlier today, the Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed 218 new cases of Covid-19 infection as of Monday, June 22, 12pm.

This brings the total number of cases to 42,313.

The vast majority of the cases are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

There is one case in the community, a Work Pass holder. There are no Singaporean or Permanent Resident cases.

The single case in the community had been picked up as a result of proactive screening of those working in essential services, even though he is asymptomatic.

Summary table of confirmed cases:

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has decreased, from an average of eight cases per day in the week before, to an average of four per day in the past week.

The number of unlinked cases in the community has remained stable at an average of two per day in the past two weeks.

On June 22, one new cluster was announced at 204 Tagore Lane.

Public places visited

Here are the public places visited by Covid-19 patients during the infectious period:

MOH stated that those who have been in close contact with the positive cases would have already been informed.

Members of the public do not have to avoid these places as the affected premises will undergo cleaning and disinfection.

However, those who have been to these places during the respective timings should take note if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection such as cough, sore throat and runny nose as well as fever, loss of taste or smell.

Update on current cases

There are currently 200 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and one is in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

6,497 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19.

26 have passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection.

648 more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

In all, 35,590 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
