463 new cases of Covid-19 in S’pore on June 12, 18 are cases in the community

This brings the total number of cases to 39,850.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 463 new cases of Covid-19 as of 12 pm on Friday, June 12, 2020.

This brings the total number of reported cases in Singapore to 39,850.

The majority of the reported infections are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

Preliminary findings indicate 18 cases in the community, with 10 being Work Pass holders.

Eight are Singaporeans or Permanent Residents.

Of these, five were close contacts of earlier cases, and had already been placed on quarantine.

Another five cases were picked up from our active surveillance and screening of workers in essential services and persons working at dormitories.

Epidemiological investigations are ongoing for the other eight cases.

Further updates will be shared in a separate announcement from the Ministry later this evening.
