One of the People Action Party's (PAP) new candidate, Gan Siow Huang, was seen at Deyi Secondary School, which is the nomination centre for Aljunied, Ang Mo Kio, Marymount, and Yio Chu Kang.
She told media that she will contest at Marymount SMC, according to a tweet by Sharon See from Straits Times.

According to another tweet by CNA's Olivia Siong, she was seen arriving at Deyi Secondary School.

The former air force officer made history in 2015 when she became the first woman brigadier-general.
The new Marymount SMC has been carved out of Bishan-Toa Payoh Group Representation Constituency (GRC).
According to the electoral boundaries report for GE2020, it was carved out of Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC with a total of 23,439 voters.
As of now, she is the first new candidate to be confirmed to be contesting in an SMC.
