The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed 219 new cases of Covid-19 infection on Friday, June 26, bringing the total number of cases to 42,955.

Community cases

There are six new cases in the community.

Five are Singaporeans and one is a Work Pass holder.

MOH said that one of the new cases confirmed today had met a large group of social contacts for sports and social activities.

Such behaviour increases the risk of transmission and has resulted in his contacts being quarantined, MOH said.

MOH added that it "will be investigating this case", and advised the public to "abide by the spirit of the rule to limit social gatherings to not more than five persons".

Case 42,987

One of the confirmed cases today was Case 42,987, a 27-year old female Singapore Citizen who works at Vanguard Senior Care Centre (Woodlands).

MOH said that hers was the only positive result out of tests done for staff working in non-residential community care settings, such as kidney dialysis centres, home care services, day hospices, and senior care centres.

MOH added that her serological test result came back positive, likely indicating a past infection.

More than 5,500 of an estimated 5,700 staff in such settings have been tested. These surveillance tests have been carried out since June 3 as part of the transition to Phase One and Phase Two of the circuit breaker exit, MOH said.

Update on condition of confirmed cases

221 more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

In all, 36,825 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 183 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital, with one case in the intensive care unit (ICU).

5,921 are isolated and cared for in community facilities.

Here's the summary of confirmed cases:

Places visited by confirmed cases

MOH regularly updates a list of public places visited by confirmed cases for more than 30 minutes during their infectious period.

The new locations added to the list on June 26 include:

    • Pearl’s Hill 34 (34 Upper Cross Street)
    • Outram Park Ya Hua Rou Gu Cha (7 Keppel Road)
    • Jurong East Sports Centre (21 Jurong East Street 31)
    • SAFRA Mount Faber (2 Telok Blangah Way)
    • An Qi Spa at People’s Park Centre (101 Upper Cross Street)
    • ML Aesthetics LLP at People’s Park Centre (101 Upper Cross Street)

This is the current list of locations:

12 new locations were added to the list in Thursday's (June 25) update, including places like VivoCity and Bugis Junction.

Those who had been identified as close contacts of confirmed cases would already have been notified by MOH.

As a precautionary measure, those who had been at these locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit.

They should see a doctor promptly if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history.

MOH also said that there is no need to avoid places where confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been. The National Environment Agency will engage the management of affected premises to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection.
