5566 member Jason Hsu and his model wife Bernice Chao are expecting their first child.

And the pair is commemorating the pregnancy with a very unique maternity shoot.

The shoot features Chao, who is currently seven months pregnant, swimming underwater decked in a bikini and diving gear.

In both posts, the caption reads:

"The beauty of life and nature in this moment. 💙

Thank you to those who have accompanied me on this milestone."

It seems that Chao chose this concept due to her love for the sea, which she has shared in other Instagram posts.

In her caption, she said:

"[My] summer sun tan has come to an early end. I wanted to get a warm tan this year, but my skin is becoming more and more pale every day, so I just have to give up 😄

Ah, I miss the sea ~~~~~🐠🐙🐟🐡"

Here's a translation of her caption:

"Dongqing Secret Pool

The water here is very calm, the tall coral reefs block out the sun. The terrain is so beautiful that you can release a breath and gently float in the water, as if you're in a dream, a magical Orchid Island 🌊"

Had to follow strict instructions

Chao had her photoshoot at GirlDive Mermaid College, which offers free-diving experiences as well as underwater photography.

But before she could take part, she and Hsu had consulted an obstetrician and a gynaecologist to make sure it was safe for her to do an underwater maternity shoot.

According to Apple Daily, the doctors had checked and ensured that the baby was in a safe position for Chao to go diving.

They also gave her a list of guidelines to follow, such as:

• Not diving beyond three metres
• Not holding her breath for too long
• Not tiring herself out

Heeding her doctors' instructions, she swam between two to three metres underwater and surfaced every 30 seconds to breathe.

The shoot took two days, though only an hour worth of footage was used.

Expecting baby girl

The couple got married in Dec. 2019.

In February, they revealed that they were expecting baby girl at a gender reveal party.

Jason Hsu starring in new drama

Hsu was part of the latest 5566 reunion in July 2019 which was held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

He is set to star in an upcoming Taiwanese drama series, "Lost Romance".
