Tuas warehouse fire was so intense, it broke off the building's walls

The fire involved the contents of the warehouse which largely comprised machinery and bales of plastic resin.

A fire broke out at a two-storey Tuas warehouse on today (May 13) located at No. 2B Tuas Ave 12.

According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), the fire broke out on the second floor of the warehouse.

The SCDF added at it responded to the fire at about 6.20am:

"SCDF immediately deployed its resources to surround and contain the fire. Firefighters faced intense heat from the fire, which had caused the walls of the premises to break off."

16 emergency vehicles and 70 firefighters were deployed to contain the fire. Eight handheld jets were also utilised at the height of the operations.

The fire was extinguished at about 7.50am. There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
