Tony Hadley, former lead singer from 1980s band, Spandau Ballet, has extended an invitation to the two eventual winners of the Gold 905 "Celebrity Name Drop" contest to go to his rescheduled concert in Singapore on Oct. 10, 2020.

Hadley made his offer over a video on May 23, a day after Gold 905 backtracked and awarded the full prize to the other radio game show contestant, Muhammad Shalehan, 32, who was deemed not to have won initially, but fought tooth and nail for his rightful piece of the pie.

Hadley also invited the other winner, Jerome Tan, as well as "The Gold 905 Family", referring to the radio station's staff, to his upcoming concert.

All of them are also invited backstage to meet with Hadley.

Hadley wrote in his Facebook post accompanying the video invite:

I am delighted to hear that Singapore’s Mediacorp @gold905 have acknowledged Muhammed Shalehan’s answers as being correct in their Celebrity Name Drop competition. Awarding both winning contestants $10,000 each is very fair and honourable.

This entire hullabaloo started after Shalehan, who was denied the top prize for allegedly mispronouncing Hadley's full name, wrote an email to the singer to get his endorsement.

To Shalehan's surprise, he received a positive response.

Hadley's public endorsement via a video the singer recorded by himself snowballed into public opinion coalescing around supporting Shalehan.

Hadley's original concert was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

His rescheduled Saturday night concert will be held at The Theatre at Mediacorp.

He will be performing Spandau Ballet’s biggest hit, True.

The 59-year-old crooner has sold over 25 million albums with his band.

Spandau Ballet in the 1980s rode the New Wave out of the the UK.

His latest solo album, Talking To The Moon, was out in June 2018.

Tickets to the his Singapore show are priced between S$128 and S$228.
