Covid-19: No new clusters in S'pore on May 25, 862 more patients discharged

Two new cases are Work Permit holders residing outside the dormitories.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 344 new cases of Covid-19 as of 12pm on Monday, May 25.

This brings the total number of reported cases in Singapore to 31,960, with the majority of the reported infections continuing to be work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

862 more patients have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 15,738 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

No new clusters today

338 of the new cases are Work Permit holders residing in dormitories, while two of the cases are work permit holders living outside of the dormitories.

MOH announced that among the new cases today, four are Singaporeans or Permanent Residents.

 

There are no new imported cases.

Of the new cases, 99 per cent are linked to known clusters, while the remaining one per cent are pending contact tracing.

No new clusters were announced today.

In addition, the cluster at Sembcorp Marine Admiralty Yard (Admiralty Road West) has been closed after no new cases were reported for the past two incubation periods (28 days).

Summary of confirmed cases

Of the 607 confirmed cases who are still in hospital, most are stable or improving.

Eight are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

15,592 cases who have mild symptoms or who are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19 are isolated and cared for at community facilities.

23 have passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection.

Separately, nine individuals found to be have Covid-19 infection have died of causes unlinked to the virus, most recently a 50-year-old Thai national and a 31-year-old Indian national whose deaths were announced on May 12.

MOH has also uncovered links for four previously unlinked cases in the past week (18 May to 24 May).
