If you would like to participate in a cause while staying at home, the Masks Sewn with Love (MSWL) initiative be might of interest.

The aim was 50,000 reusable masks for those who need them — which has recently been met.

The next phase of the project is looking at another 40,000 masks that will go to frontline workers.

The masks can be made by anyone in Singapore keen to contribute, and beneficiaries can range from the volunteers' loved ones to vulnerable groups in the community.

The project, which was launched about one month ago by the People's Association Women's Integrated Network Council, has Facebook group now.

The feed refreshes with new posts from volunteers, bringing updates on the masks they have made, as well as donations of supplies.

For those who are keen to produce the masks in bulk (40 and above), MSWL will be able to provide fabric.

Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of National Development Sun Xueling shared instructions and a sizing guide in an earlier post:

If you wish to volunteer, simply sew the masks, then mail it out with the words "masks sewn with love" on the envelope.

However, you will have to indicate your name, estate, the number of masks you have made, and the sizes of the masks on the package.

You will not have to pay for postage, and the masks will be consolidated at SingPost.

They will then be distributed to those who need it (voluntary children's homes, elderly homes, homeless shelters, and now, frontline workers) by other members/organisations in the community.
