Covid-19: 6 new clusters & 675 new cases confirmed on May 13, 2020

This brings Singapore's total of Covid-19 cases to 25,346.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 675 new cases of Covid-19 infection as of 12pm on Wednesday, May. 13, 2020.

This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 25,346, with the majority of cases continuing to be Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

At present, there are a total of 23,008 Work Permit holders residing in dormitories who have tested positive for Covid-19, according to MOH's May 13 situation report.

Majority of cases continue to be migrant workers

671 of the new cases are Work Permit holders residing in dormitories, while there are no new cases of Work Permit holders living outside of dormitories.

MOH announced that among the new cases reported today, two are Singaporeans or Permanent Residents, and two are work pass holders.

There were no new imported cases today.

Of the new cases, 99 per cent are linked to known clusters, while the remaining 1 per cent are pending contact tracing.

Six new clusters were announced today.

  1. One of the newly confirmed cases is linked to four previous cases to form a new cluster at 3 Kian Teck Crescent.
  2. Seven of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at 119 Neythal Road.
  3. 11 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at 1 Sungei Kadut Street 4.
  4. 110 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at 1020 Tai Seng Avenue.
  5. Seven of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at 17C Tuas Road.
  6. Two of the newly confirmed cases are linked to three previous cases to form a new cluster at 29 Tuas View Walk 2.

Summary of confirmed cases

958 more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 4,809 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

Of the 1,037 confirmed cases who are still in hospital, most are stable or improving.

19 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

19,479 cases who have mild symptoms or who are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19 are isolated and cared for at community facilities.

21 have passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection.

Separately, eight individuals found to be have Covid-19 infection have died of causes unlinked to the virus, including a 50-year-old Thai national and 31-year-old Indian national whose deaths were announced on May 12.

In the past week, between May 6 to May 12, MOH has uncovered links for 104 previously unlinked cases.
