With the help from the Malaysian government, 22 Singaporeans arrived safely in Singapore from Kathmandu, Nepal.

They landed in Singapore in the evening of Apr. 4, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

Malaysia arranged a repatriation flight for its citizens who were in Kathmandu, Nepal, to Kuala Lumpur, and the Singaporeans were allowed to board too.

The Singaporeans then returned to Singapore from Kuala Lumpur.

Singapore government thanks Malaysia government

Said MFA:

"The Singapore Government would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Malaysian government and the Embassy of Malaysia in Kathmandu for accepting our request to help accommodate the Singapore residents on the flight back from Nepal."

Malaysia previously helped to bring back Singaporeans who were in Tehran, Iran, back to Singapore, after they served a Stay Home Notice.

The ASEAN countries have been working together in the fight against Covid-19, with Singapore donating medical supplies to Malaysia.
