Some parts of Malaysia experienced slight tremors from an earthquake in Indonesia earlier on.
According to a Facebook post by the Malaysian Meteorological Department, the earthquake occurred in Northern Sumatra, at a depth of 10km and with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter Scale at around 4:20pm on April 30.
The post further added that shaking from the earthquake was felt in Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, Penang and parts of Selangor and Perak.
However, there was no threat of a tsunami.
The New Straits Times further reported that several Malaysians residing in Putrajaya have since taken to Twitter to claim that their apartments were shaken by the earthquake.
This is not the first time we are experiencing this in Malaysia but the quake today is definitely after a long time 👀💀 #gempabumi #earthquake #Malaysia pic.twitter.com/DwF7Vfgrsr
