Cheng Li Hui, a Member of Parliament for Tampines GRC, put out a Facebook post informing that Tampines Town Council has been activated for block cleaning on Sunday (March 1).

Common areas to be cleaned under "SOP"

Her Facebook post said that the "SOP" for Covid-19 is to activate cleaning under the supervision of the National Environment Agency for the affected block.

Common areas such as lifts, lobbies, letterboxes, void decks and playgrounds are to be cleaned.

Her original Facebook post had stated that there was a "confirmed case in Tampines North (St 45)" on March 1, but this line had been removed two hours after her post initially went out.

Chinese media 8 World also reported off her post saying that Cheng had announced a new confirmed case.

Cheng then responded to a comment asking if there has been a confirmed case, she stated that the Town Council was "activated for cleaning for a block in that area":

We have reached out to both Cheng and the Ministry of Health to clarify if there is a new confirmed case living at Tampines St 45.

Confirmed that she had edited her post

On Monday night (March 2), Cheng subsequently put out another Facebook post confirming that she had edited her original Facebook post.

She said her post on March 1 was regarding a "confirmed Covid-19 case at Tampines St 45", and had explained the cleaning SOP of the block.

She clarified that at the time of her initial post, "the full details of case 106 were not made known in MOH’s press release due to cut off time".

She also confirmed that she had deleted two photos, as "they gave a strong hint of the location".
