Tanjong Pagar Shake Shack opens Feb. 7 with buttermilk fried chicken burger & 2 exclusive concretes

From Feb. 7, 2020, you won't have to travel to Jewel Changi Airport to get your Shake Shack fix.

The American burger chain will be opening at at 89 Neil Road this Friday with three new items on the menu:

  1. Chick' n Shack
  2. Eye of the Tiger concrete (custard with the texture of ice cream)
  3. Open Seasame concrete

Chick' n Shack

The Chick' n Shack burger (S$9.20) features chicken breast slow cooked in buttermilk marinade before being crisp-fried.

It is topped with lettuce, pickles, and tangy buttermilk herb mayo.

The item will be exclusively available at Neil Road from Feb. 7-9, and subsequently released at Jewel Changi on Feb. 10.

Two exclusive concretes

The two new concretes (S$7.50 each) are only available at Neil Road.

Eye of the Tiger is made of vanilla custard blended with lychee, raspberry and shortbread, and topped with lime zest.

On the other hand, Open Sesame consists of vanilla custard blended with black sesame paste and Plain Vanilla brownies. It is topped with black sesame seeds and gold-dusted chocolate.

Heritage interiors

The design of Shake Shack's second outlet is inspired by nearby Chinatown as well as Peranakan architecture.

However, its modern tones, consisting of soft pink and mint hues, rose-gold accents and pink terrazzo, come across more strongly.

A tiger mural on the wall pays tribute to the building's history as the former Tiger Balm factory.
