In light of the Covid-19 outbreak which saw people scrambling to purchase masks, hand sanitisers and groceries, some who need these items might be deprived of it.

This was the case when alcohol swabs ran out at numerous stores and pharmacies, leaving patients with diabetes, high and dry.

400 packs to be given away

Non-profit Diabetes Singapore however, has stepped forward to provide some relief for those suffering from the medical condition.

In a Facebook post on Feb. 16, the organisation announced it would be distributing 400 free care packs to diabetics, sponsored by Aeras Medical.

These care packs include 10 Glucopro alcohol swabs, which are needed for disinfecting the skin prior to insulin injections.

The packs also consist of one safety lancet, which can be used to obtain blood samples.

Each person is only entitled to one pack and packs are available while stocks last.

Those eligible for the giveaway include members of Diabetes Singapore. Non-members are required to present their NRIC and any other document which confirms the person has diabetes.
