The family of a motorcyclist who was killed in an accident on the Seletar Expressway (SLE) have spoken out, saying they feel "saddened and troubled" over the circulation of the videos and photos of the tragedy, Lianhe Wanbao reported.

Police and family urge public not to share videos of the crash

The police had initially urged the public not to circulate videos and photos of the crash when they were first put up online due to its graphic nature.

The family has likewise requested for the same.

The accident happened on Monday morning, Dec. 16, and involved two cars and a trailer.

Police said investigations are ongoing.

Victim lived by himself and ran a business in Singapore

The victim's family have also provided further details of the deceased man.

They revealed that he was a 45-year-old Malaysian from Johor Bahru named Wang Lai Peng.

As Wang had been running a furniture business in Singapore for about 20 years, he owned homes in both Singapore and Johor Bahru, his nephew, surnamed Chen, said.

Chen said Wang lived by himself usually, as he was not married yet, and his parents had already passed away.

While he would always go back to Johor Bahru every weekend, he stayed in Singapore during the weekdays, he added.

Victim was a hardworking man

Chen said his uncle's accident might have happened when he was travelling to work from Johor Bahru, adding that his entire family was devastated over the accident.

"My uncle was a very hardworking man, and loved to help others out," he said.

"No one expected him to die this way."

Chen hoped the police can find out the truth behind the crash, and "let his uncle rest in peace".

He also have urged other motorcyclists to be cautious while riding their motorbikes, especially when they are riding to Singapore for work.
