Alternative water sources are currently being used at the Basic Military Training Centre (BMTC) in Pulau Tekong, after discoloured tap water was reported in certain areas of the centre on Nov. 20.
MINDEF working with PUB to restore water
According to MINDEF, the Public Utilities Board (PUB) was promptly contacted, and its officers responded quickly to flush the water network in Pulau Tekong.
PUB officers also collected water samples to investigate the cause.
"The safety and well-being of our servicemen is of paramount importance. BMTC is currently using alternative water sources and PUB-deployed water wagons to meet servicemen’s essential water needs such as drinking and food preparation," said MINDEF.
MINDEF stated that it is working with PUB to restore potable water supply as quickly as possible.
