Malaysia Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad suffered a nosebleed midway through a press conference at the MPOB International Palm Oil Congress Exhibition on Nov. 19, 2019 morning.

The 94-year-old was then escorted away.

The Malaysian leader wiping his nose with a handkerchief was caught on video.

Red stains were seen on the cloth.

Mahathir’s escorts then interrupted the event to usher the prime minister out.

Resumed work

Mahathir has since resumed work in the afternoon and seems none the worse after his nose started bleeding during a news conference this morning, his press secretary said.

Endie Shazlie Akbar also said he was not rushed away for medical treatment as believed, when the nosebleed happened.

“Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad experienced a small case of nosebleed today; however, he is now well and there is nothing to worry," Endie said in a statement.

“He is working as usual.”
