One extremely kindhearted flight steward recently won over the hearts of the collective internet.

Touching gesture

A video posted to Twitter by one Armaini Imay on Nov. 17, 2019 featured one particularly compassionate male flight attendant aboard a Lion Air Indonesia flight from Surabaya to Palangkaraya.

In the short clip, the young steward can be seen kneeling in the aisle beside the old lady, smiling and comforting her and even wiping her chin with a napkin.

In a subsequent clip, he even blows on the hot food before feeding it to her.

And throughout the entire exchange, the steward never drops his smile.

Another Twitter user who reposted the video congratulated the steward for his actions, saying that the man was a "great example of a perfect flight attendant", and that the airline should "award" him.

The reposted tweet has since gone viral, garnering over 52,400 retweets and 79,400 likes.

More details about the touching incident surfaced on another Instagram post by Armaini.

According to the caption, the elderly lady was actually 117 years old.

She initially refused to buckle her seat belt when the flight took off, and kept requesting to get off the plane.

The steward then managed to assuage her fears, and the lady eventually agreed to put on her seat belt.

"I served her as I would serve my mother"

The steward was subsequently identified as one Donny Prima Yuszela, who hails from Jakarta.

Donny shared with local media that he originally returned to his duties after offering the woman tea, but then thought of her again as he was about to have his meal.

He then generously offered the lady some of his own food instead, reported AsiaOne.

"I accompanied the elderly lady because I wanted her to feel comfortable. I served her as I would serve my mother," he said.

Lion Air also confirmed the incident in a statement, saying that it had occurred onboard a flight on Nov. 10.

Twitter users moved

Many Twitter users praised the man for his kindness and compassion, and one elaborated that from his uniform, the man was actually the captain.

One Twitter user in the comments claimed that the clip had been captured by her friend, and that at some point following the incident, the steward in the viral video proceeded to call his mother.

He allegedly cried and said that he missed her and his family.
