A new Home Team national servicemen (NSmen) clubhouse is expected to open in Bedok Reservoir Park by the fourth quarter of 2021.
This was announced at the groundbreaking ceremony of the clubhouse on Friday (Nov. 1), attended by Minister for Home Affairs K Shanmugam.
In his speech at the ceremony, Shanmugam recognised the important roles that our NSmen play and the contributions they make to protect the safety and security of Singapore.
As such, the clubhouses are designed to be the "best-in-class" so that the NSmen can enjoy their experience to the fullest.
The new Bedok clubhouse is one of three upcoming clubs conceptualised to be "Waterfront Havens".
The other two new clubs will open in Khatib (ready in a few months' time) as well as in the upcoming Tengah forest town.
The new Bedok club will provide a new space for some 25 per cent of NSmen and their families who live and work in the East.
Longest water slide in Singapore and infinity pool
In living up to its name as a waterfront haven, this clubhouse will be home to the longest water slide in Singapore.
The 374-foot (about 114m) water slide will include a 278-foot (about 84m) water slide tunnel decorated with LED rainbows, dot patterns and shooting lights.
There will also be a wet obstacle rope course to complete the indoor water adventure experience.
Here's how it is expected to look:
There will also be an infinity pool in the clubhouse at the second level, overlooking Bedok Reservoir.
Villas and other amenities
One can also look forward to penthouse-like villas designed to mimic a natural environment, like being on a hilly slope or under the canopy of trees in a forest.
The 10 villas will have a gross floor area of 1,400 to 1,600 square feet, with views of the park or the reservoir.
They will also each have a sheltered barbecue area and a roof terrace.
There will also be a 7,500-square-foot gym as well as exclusive spaces for NSmen to have gatherings, such as a members-only Lounge and something they will call ManCaves.
Here's how the ManCaves look:
Nice.
