That's what friends are for.

Haidilao is known for its superb service, which includes fanfare for patrons who are there to celebrate their birthday.

This means the crew will sing you a song and present you with a fruit platter.

But that pales in comparison to what a bunch of pals did for their friend's birthday at Haidilao.

Cake design features Haidilao dining setting

A supposed big fan of Haidilao named Fred recently celebrated his birthday at the Novena Haidilao branch with his friends.

One of them, a 30-year-old Singapore permanent resident Lim Ting Ting, actually surprised the birthday boy with a cake featuring a design of the dining setting at Haidilao.

The reason? Fred apparently loves Haidilao so much that he can eat it almost every day, Lim said.

Here's how it looks:

The Haidilao staff at Royal Square, Novena, were also amused by this surprise, Lim said.

The extremely detailed design included a hotpot with four different soup bases and various dishes on the table.

Lim also included the Haidilao signboard as well as a figurine of a staff performing the signature pulled noodle dance.

Cake was baked by friend

Speaking to Mothership, Lim said that she took about two to three days to complete this cake.

Lim said that she bakes for a living and enjoys seeing the satisfactory looks whenever someone receives a fun design like this.

She's open to receiving orders and the Haidilao design cake will cost about S$250 to S$280, she added.

Lucky to have her as a friend.
