One Facebook user recently shared a photo of an elderly lady selling fruits at Thomson.

Lugs around trolley of goods despite failing vision and memory

One Samuel Lee posted on photo on Facebook of an elderly lady sitting at a makeshift stall at Thomson.

On the ground beside her were small piles of fruits and vegetables which the lady was selling.

According to Lee, the 97-year-old granny buys fruits and vegetables from a Sheng Siong supermarket to sell, just to put food on her table.

Lee added that the lady would lug her "super heavy" trolley of goods to sell every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, despite her being "so weak and fragile".

However Mothership understands that she does this to stay active in her old age.

Additionally, the lady revealed that due to her age, her vision and hearing were failing her, and she might have lapses in her memory as well.

Because of her poor memory, the lady might not remember the people who visit her, Lee said, and would "blame herself" for this.

Despite this, Lee urged Singaporeans to come down to support the lady.

The post has been shared more than 3,500 times in less than three hours.
