Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE) employees will be benefitting from a slew of new family-friendly programmes introduced on Oct. 21, including 26 weeks of paid leave for new parents.

The 26-week parental leave is available to both parents within the first 12 months of the birth or adoption of a child, according to Business Insider.

Family-friendly, flexible work arrangements

The new implementation by the American tech giant would be a 10-week increase for mothers, and 24 more weeks for fathers in Singapore.

According to HPE, the eligibility of paid parental leave benefits will be retroactively applied to parents with children born or adopted on May 1, 2019, and after.

Besides the 26-week parental leave, HPE also introduced Parental Transition Support, a flexible work arrangement that allows employees to work part-time for up to 36 months, after the birth or adoption of a child.

Other employee benefits introduced

HPE has also announced further benefits for its employees, such as Retirement Transition Support.

Under the scheme, employees approaching retirement will have the opportunity to work part-time to help adjust to lifestyle changes, while serving as mentors to other employees.

In addition, Wellness Fridays will be introduced, allowing employees to leave the office three hours early for one Friday per month to volunteer, focus on physical and mental health, or spend time on personal and career development.
