The dog did not win a prize, unfortunately.

Talk about putting on a broad smile and being a good sport posing for the camera.

No, not the dog.

Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong has put up a photo of him and a dog who participated in the Best Dressed Dogs' competition on Sunday, Oct. 20 in Koon Seng Park, located next to Haig Girls' School.

The sell?

The dog was impeccably dressed in an all-white ensemble with a purple flower garland -- a get-up that is uncanny and reminiscent of what politicians of Singapore's dominant political party will wear.

Well, if the dog was dressed up by its owners to impress Goh, it pretty much managed to catch the attention of the veteran politician and former prime minister who wrote on Facebook:

At the Best Dressed Dogs’ competition in Koon Seng Park, this couple said that theirs is a “politician” dog but not affiliated to any party. Unfortunately, it did not win any prize. The recently married couple have just moved into Marine Parade. --- gct

No surprises that Goh is the grassroots adviser for that private housing estate in Joo Chiat.

The owners most likely had the game plan down pat.

But the dog did not win a prize, despite it paying homage, maybe because it will not be a good look if it won.

In a separate Facebook post on Sunday, Goh said he visited the West Coast Park Dog Run and has asked the National Parks Board to consider an East Coast Park Dog Run:

If this comes to pass, the aspiring all-white politician dog can do its walkabouts, erm, runabouts there.
