There's good in Yishun too, like everywhere else.

Yishun might be known as the Twilight zone of Singapore, as many things happen there.

This recent story that took place in that neighbourhood though, is the reason why Yishun is just like any other neighbourhood.

Kind-hearted SMRT uncle

On Sept. 5, 2019, one Susutin Ah Ling posted a photo on Facebook showing a smiling SMRT staff.

The man is Uncle Sahar, who is stationed at Yishun MRT.

According to Ling, the kind man spotted a visually impaired woman at the MRT station.

Uncle Sahar went above and beyond his line of duty as he proceeded to assist and accompany the woman commuter out of the station, all the way to an eatery, Teh Tarik Express, located in Northpoint City.

Ling ended off her post by cheekily asking: "SMRT give Uncle Sahar a pay rise leh!"

Kudos to Uncle Sahar for his initiative and selflessness.

Not the first time

This isn't the first time Uncle Sahar has been recognised for his kind deeds.

In 2018, Uncle Sahar, whose full name is Sahar Bin Abdul Rahman, immediately came to the aid of a female passenger who had fainted inside the train.

Alongside another SMRT staff, Maimunah Binte Abdul Wahid, the pair provided a wheelchair for the passenger and brought her to rest at the staff lounge area.

To soothe the passenger and make her feel more comfortable, the staff even offered her a blanket and hot drinks.
