S'pore artist draws traditional medicine as Pokemon-themed products like Pika Gao & Zam-Bat

Damn creative.

Many of us who fall ill are usually prescribed by our Asian parents a whole range of traditional medicine.

Zambuk for our bruises, pipa gao to soothe our sore throats, prickly heat powder for itchiness and Tiger Balm for muscle aches.

One rather creative artist in Singapore however, has put a new spin on these medicinal items.

Pokemon-themed medicine

D.atlastudio, an artist who designs cute enamel pins, has created an innovative "Asian Medication Kit", but with a Pokemon twist.

Each medicine product now has a unique Pokemon mascot representing it.

For example, famous Chinese herbal syrup pi pa gao, has been rather aptly and punnily renamed as "Pika Gao", with Pikachu fronting the brand.

Snake Brand Prickly Heat Powder, something most loved by all NS boys, is redesigned to become Ekans Brand Prickly Heat.

Some Zubat Zam-Bat instead of Zambuk to heal your bruises.

Some Voltorb Po Chai pills—but these seem like they might give you "explosive diarrhoea" more than they could cure your stomachache.

Vicks Vaporean-Rub for that blocked nose.

Yu Yee medicated oil has also been transformed into "Hoppi Oil".

And Ditto-l "jelly handwash" to transform your dirty hands to clean ones.

Very cool.

You can get the designs as enamel pins

Fortunately, if you're enamoured by D.atlas' art, the artist is planning to convert the designs into gold-plated enamel pins.

D.atlastudio has set up a Kickstarter page for those interested in pledging to have these Pokemon medication designs come to life.

There will be a total of 11 designs. Here's what the full set looks like:

Those looking to purchase one acrylic keychain of their choice can pledge S$10.

S$14 or more can get you one enamel pin of any design, and buyers can add on an additional S$14 for each additional pin.

Those looking to get the full set of pins have to pledge S$140 or more.
