Good news for those looking to buy their daily breakfast in a more sustainable, eco-friendly way.

Bring your own box or bag

Local F&B giant BreadTalk is teaming up with a youth-led start-up initiative ProjectbECOme to encourage customers to bring their own reusable containers or bags to bring their purchases home.

All in a bid to reduce plastic waste generated from the use of multiple plastic single-use plastics (one per bun, for instance, combined in a larger carrier).

Being eco-friendly has its rewards too — from now till September 17, the bakery is organising a giveaway of S$5 BreadTalk cards for 10 people who upload pictures of bread they buy and pack in their own bags or containers.

How to store your bread

Here are some examples of how people have used eco-friendly containers or bags to keep their purchases:

A nice way to get people to start making reusables a part of their everyday lives.
