Oh no.

You can't stay over in the Changi Airport transit area.

Even if you have a boarding pass, if you do not have the intention to travel, you might very well land in some hot soup.

In fact, two students were arrested for using their boarding pass to try and meet their Korean idol in the Changi Transit Area.

The catch was they had no intention of departing Singapore.

Two YouTubers from Yes Theory, which is a YouTube collective made out of YouTubers from America, Egypt, and France, decided to see if they could actually stay over at the transit area for four days.

Missed their flight, stayed over in the airport

They booked two flights -- they booked the first flight in order to get into the transit area, with the second flight only scheduled to take place four days later.

Upon entering the transit area, they commenced their Changi Airport staycation.

They ooh-ed and ah-ed at the many Changi facilities and stores present.

They did face a check on their third day, but due to the fact that their second booked flight was the next day, the officer apparently thought it was okay to let them be on their way.

Maybe they didn't know they were flouting the rules?

Now, you might be thinking; maybe they just didn't know that you are not supposed to be in the transit area without the intention to travel.

But throughout the video, they constantly cut back to this particular shot of a warning sign they saw at the check-in.

They also repeatedly referred to their fear of getting caught while in the airport.

A fear that nearly came through on the second day.

In addition, their video also shows them explicitly asking the hotel staff: "How long are you allowed to stay in this hotel?"

In response, the hotel staff said: "The airport rules (are that) you are not allowed to stay in the airport beyond 48 hours."

Despite this, it was quite clear how they, and their viewers, perceived their actions.
