A youth in Singapore went beyond just using his camera to film the actions of a fellow male commuter touching himself while riding on the public bus.

He proceeded to take matters into his own hands, as he alerted the bus driver and helped the female victim out by ensuring that she was safely separated from the alleged harasser.

The police were alerted to the incident, which came to light on July 3, 2019, when videos of what happened were tweeted by Kurt Mikhail (@froyokurt), who was the youth who got involved.

Based on what the videos showed and the captions posted, the incident allegedly involved a teenage boy touching himself at the sight of a secondary school girl, who remained unidentified in the videos.

Here's the video @froyokurt took -- but with the identity of the alleged harasser censored:

Doing the right thing

In his now viral tweet, @froyokurt wrote:

If y'all see this shit contact the police immediately and separate the victim from the person. It's disgusting I had to witness it first hand but I'm glad my mum raised me to not just sit and watch when these things happen. Don't ever think twice about helping someone in need.

Protecting the victim

In another video, @froyokurt can be seen shielding the victim from the alleged perpetrator:

@froyokurt later explained that the victim appeared extremely frightened by the alleged perpetrator, who kept trying to leave the bus before the police arrived:

According to one of the videos, the police eventually arrived and the girl managed to leave the bus safely.

Youth hailed a hero

Responses to @froyokurt's action were mostly positive, with many hailing him as a hero and commending him for his courage in doing the right thing:
