They say the way to someone’s heart is through the stomach.

And it seems like one Malaysian man got it right.

Unique engagement gift

On July 10 Twitter user Ayu shared one of her engagement gifts on Twitter.

Now, this engagement gift wasn’t your typical heart-shaped cake or tower of chocolates.

It is, in fact, a box full of KFC fried chicken.

Really loves fried chicken

While most people would be puzzled by this sight, Ayu was very happy to receive it as she “really loves fried chicken”.

This, however, didn’t come much as a surprise for her as she was the one who requested for the fried chicken prior to their engagement ceremony.

“Normally, desserts or food are exchanged for engagement ceremonies and I had one more tray to fill but I didn’t know what to receive. So I added KFC as the very last thing on my list.”

But Ayu didn’t really know if she was going to get her KFC when her fiance expressed his concerns on how to procure the KFC on the day of the engagement since everyone was going to be busy.

She even told him to get something else if it was too much of a hassle.

Caused laughter

But lo and behold, she was gifted her heart’s desire.

According to her tweet, everyone who attended her engagement ceremony laughed when they saw the box full of fried chicken.

“Everyone seated kept saying ‘smells like KFC lah smells like KFC’ hahahah I was embarrassed.”

“So lucky”

Ayu’s Twitter thread went viral with more than 11,000 retweets.

With the couple getting married in 2020, Ayu shared that she feels very lucky to be engaged to her fiance.

“I’m so lucky to have someone who understands me.”

Awww.
