What do you get when newly-weds in Singapore get to take a photo with Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea?

You get a bunch of keepers, of course.

Chance meeting

That’s exactly what happened on Sunday, July 22 as this moment of serendipity presented itself.

A couple, who most likely had their wedding banquet at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, was spotted taking a photo with Red Devils’ Spanish goalkeeper, David de Gea.

The towering 1.92m shot-stopper sure made his presence felt.

How lucky to be in such safe hands.

And it was undoubtedly also a spiritual moment — because de Gea saves.

De Gea was at The Fullerton Hotel on Sunday afternoon, as the Man United players were there for an event by sunglasses brand, Maui Jim.

Other players who attended the event include Diogo Dalot, Luke Shaw and Mason Greenwood, who scored the winning goal at the International Champions Cup against Inter on Saturday night.

Back after two decades

The Red Devils are in Singapore to play a bunch of pre-season games for the International Champions Cup.

Fans here are stoked as Man United are back after almost 20 years.

Over 50,000 people watched the Man United match against Inter Milan on Saturday, July 20.

One couple even took the opportunity at the Singapore Sports Hub to seal their marriage proposal.
