In case you didn't know, certain species of centipedes are highly venomous.

But Taiwanese student, 26-year-old Neil Cheng Le, decided that keeping one of them as a pet is a good idea anyway.

In fact, he even lets the arthropod crawl all over him before hand-feeding it some cat food.

Then he gives the thing head scratches:

"Gentle and easy to handle"

According to Carters News, the biology student bought the female Peruvian giant yellow-leg centipede (also known as Amazonian giant centipede) in 2014, when it was just a fraction of its size.

As an experienced arthropod hobbyist, Neil does not encourage an inexperienced owner to keep one as a pet.

Centipede bites can be "very painful", and may even cause "severe swelling, chills, fever, and weakness".

However, the student never had a problem with his centipede, and even describes it as "gentle and easy to handle".

Neil's roommate is apparently "just as crazy", and also has his own venomous pets.

Ok cool.
