Woohoo.

The Liquor Control (Supply and Consumption) Act (LCA), enacted in 2015 to restrict sale of liquor at retail stores after 11pm will see quite the change on Friday, January 18, 2019.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), following feedback from the public, has decided that food products containing alcohol will not be covered under the act.

MHA, in consultation with Ministry of Trade and Industry, will exempt all other food products from the licensing requirements of the LCA.

Beer still prohibited

Beverages, however, will still come under the aforementioned regulations.

Which means it will still be unavailable for purchase at retail stores after 10.30pm.

MHA and the police will monitor the ground situation, and periodically review, and update, this legislation.

But still, we all know what this means.
