Kind people are everywhere in Singapore.
And here's yet another heartwarming story with a bittersweet twist.
Facebook post to thank off-duty paramedic
Facebook user Edi Blacksheep updated his Facebook page on the evening of Oct. 14 to share the news of his father-in-law's passing.
However, that's not the only thing that he wanted to share.
He also showed his gratitude to a stranger who had helped his father-in-law.
Father didn't feel well entire day
Edi's father-in-law had been feeling unwell on the morning of Oct. 14.
He had been taking the bus, and alighted at a bus stop in Woodlands to sit on the bus stop bench.
On the same bus was a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) paramedic who was making his journey back home.
However, noticing that the man appeared to be in distress, and was showing signs of a mild heart attack, the off-duty paramedic alighted the bus and accompanied Edi's father-in-law at the bus stop.
The off-duty paramedic stayed with the man until an ambulance arrived and handed him over to another paramedic.
Thankful
Unfortunately, Edi's father-in-law passed away.
Nonetheless, Edi and his family were thankful that a stranger had reached out to help his father-in-law in a time of need:
"If it wasnt for his kind act, the incident could be far more worse."
Found him
With more than 600 reactions and over 700 shares, the post went viral and caught the attention of the paramedic who goes by Haziq SJ on Facebook.
Haziq went on to send his condolences to the family of the late.
However, Edi thanked him in return for going beyond his call of duty and going the "extra mile".
