A chef who worked at Marina Bay Sands was found unconscious on a path near a car park in East Coast Park by a group of cyclists just past midnight on Sept. 23.

The chef had supposedly fallen from the e-scooter he was riding.

He was subsequently sent to Changi General Hospital where he passed away from his injuries.

No witnesses

Mothership.sg understands that there were no witnesses when the incident occurred.

The cyclists who found Lim had only heard a loud bang.

When they turned around to check the source of the noise, Lim was already seen to be lying on the ground, with the e-scooter found one to two metres away from him.

The New Paper reported that there were no cameras at the accident's location either.

Shin Min Daily News has also stated that there was no blood at the scene of the accident.

The police has classified the case as one of unnatural death.

In response to Mothership.sg queries, a police spokesperson said:

“On Sept. 23, 2018 at 1.04am, the police were alerted to an accident involving a personal mobility device at East Coast Park. The rider, a 23-year-old man, was unconscious when conveyed to Changi General Hospital where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries. Police are investigating the unnatural death.”

The New Paper further reported that on Sept. 30, at the wake near Lim's home along Bedok North Road, witnesses of the accident were urged to step forward by his family.
