Fellow Bedok residents, Bedok *finally* has a GV cinema

No more travelling to Tampines for a movie.

People in Bedok, who still go to the movies, good news: You won't have a need to travel out of your neighbourhood to watch a movie anymore.

The new Djitsun (jit-suhn, the "D" is silent) mall has finally brought back a cinema into Bedok, with a six-theatre, 576-seat Golden Village (GV) multiplex.

The cinema would be the only cinema operating in the vicinity of Bedok in years, after the closure of Princess Cinema in the early 2000s, and its subsequent demolition around two years ago in 2016.

This new GV will exist as GV Bedok.

Prior to that, three other cinemas -- Liwagu Cinema, Bedok Cinema and Changi Cinema -- had long become defunct.

New popcorn flavours

To celebrate the opening of the cinema, GV is offering the special curry-flavoured gourmet popcorn, which will be exclusively available at GV Bedok for three months from its opening.

Three other gourmet popcorn flavours -- Seaweed Wasabi, Caramel, and Cheese -- will be made available soon across its cinemas island-wide.

In addition, it seems that GV Bedok will also have hot soups, pasta and light bites from Saybons, so you're probably going to slurp up some wholesome refreshments while catching some shows.

Just remember to slurp softer if you're watching movies like A Quiet Place.
