How much would you be willing to pay for fried chicken skin?
Of course, skin is the best part of the fried chicken. But for S$4.50 you'd expect a good portion.
So, it is not surprising that one consumer has been triggered by the lack of a good serving.
Posting in the Halal Cafe & Restaurants in Singapore Facebook group, one user complained about the paucity of her purchase:
The accompanying caption reads:
"Issit worth $4.50 chicken skin from ayam penyet ria jurong point outlet? 5pcs for $4.50! Tell me bout it pls.."
Fried chicken skin is indeed available on the Ayam Penyet Ria delivery menu:
But for S$4.50 or S$4.70, you might expect a little more than a handful of pieces.
Witty observations
Some of the comments on Yainey's post were sympathetic:
While others, not so:
Translation: "This chicken skin is a collector's item. Laminate the chicken skin and hang it on the wall."
Translation: "Maybe the chickens in Jurong don't have skin la, sis."

Commenters to the rescue
But there were also some useful suggestions in the comments from fried chicken skin fans on where to get better deals.
Someone else backed up the Yishun Industrial suggestion, saying:
It looks like when it comes to suggestions for better food deals, it pays to listen to the wisdom of the crowd.
