It was like something out of a movie.

On Feb. 13, the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) announced in a press release that it had arrested five suspected drug offenders in an operation in Pasir Ris.

In total, officers recovered the following items of contraband:

  • 427g of heroin
  • 409g of ice
  • 101 Ecstasy tablets
  • 22 Ermin-5 tablets
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • Four parangs and a baton

That's enough heroin to feed the addiction of 203 abusers and enough ice to feed the addiction of 234 abusers -- for a week.

The total estimated street value of the drug bust was more than S$74,000.

How it went down

On Feb. 12, CNB officers spotted a suspected drug trafficker, a 27-year-old Singaporean male, in a car parked at a petrol kiosk along Pasir Ris Drive 1.

Another 28-year-old Singaporean male suspect was a passenger in the car.

As the CNB officers kept watch, a third suspect, a 28-year-old Malaysian male rolled up on a Malaysia-registered motorcycle.

Knock knock

But the CNB wasn't finished.

Next, they raided the residence of of the 27-year-old Singaporean male suspect at Pasir Ris Drive 3.

However, they encountered resistance.

According to the CNB, as the occupants within the unit refused to open the door despite repeated warnings, officers effected a forced entry.

Upon entry, CNB officers arrested a 24-year-old and a 29-year-old -- both Singaporean females -- within the unit. The 24-year-old female was found hiding inside a cupboard.
