Say goodbye, winter in Singapore is ending.
Mercury rising
The rainy weather across the island has eased as bits of clear blue sky are once again visible on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018.
As temperatures slowly but surely rise to their normal tropical Singapore levels (i.e. above 28°C), this signals a gradual weakening of the monsoon surge in the South China Sea.
These monsoon winds have been responsible for bringing cool air from the winter chill in the northern hemisphere to our tropical island.
As of Jan. 15, temperatures are at a cool of at least 22°C -- so enjoy it while it lasts:
That chill has clearly been effective in making Singaporeans pile on the layers the past few days:

However, the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) expects the lowest temperatures to rise to return to between 23°C and 24°C for the next few days.
Some parts of Singapore are already experiencing temperatures of 27°C on Monday.
The reason the chill is still real is because the "real feel" of temperature is about 4°C to 5°C lower after factoring in high humidity, strength of wind, and the overall lack of warmth from the sun.
But welcome back soon, high-waisted shorts.
