Life-size pillows with the full body images of all six members of K-pop girl group G-Friend printed on top have angered fans for sexualising the group.

The pillows that are 180 cm long and 60 wide have been criticised for not only encouraging fans to hug the objects, but also perhaps do more than just hugging.

Fans not buying it

The pillows were released on Dec.29 last year by Source Music ahead of the K-pop group's first exclusive concert on Jan. 6-7 in Seoul, Korea.

According to The Korea Times, fans said online that the goods reminded them of Japanese dakimakura pillows that are usually printed with anime characters, and that the pillows were close to being sexual merchandise.

They even said on the K-pop group's social network site that they would not buy the items, with some using the hashtag #GFRIEND_goods_not buying.

Source Music withdrawing the products from sale

Source Music announced a day later on Dec. 30 that it had decided to stop producing and selling the pillows as part of G-Friend's concert merchandise.

They also apologised in their official statement, saying that they will be more careful in the future.
