Chinese New Year is on Feb. 16 and 17, 2018.

This means the annual fast food war has begun -- which is also increasingly a war on the War On Diabetes.

1. McDonald's Prosperity Burgers

Every year the Golden Arches brings back their Prosperity Chicken/ Beef Burgers ($5.75 for single-patty; $7.75 for double-patty) to celebrate CNY.

This is also accompanied by the Prosperity Twister Fries, and some seasonal Red Bean Pie, Red Bean Mcflurry, and Lychee McFizz.

2. Burger King's Golden Huat Floss Burgers

What's more "huat" than Golden Huat Burgers? Golden Huat Floss Burgers.

Choose between the Double BK Chick'n Crisp ($7.70) and the Fish'n Crisp ($7.50) versions.

If you can't get past the floss/ mayo covered burger bun, there's always the new Garlic Parmesan Chicken Fries, or Taro Corn Pies.

Floss on buns have a try-too-hard vibe.

3. KFC's Honey Sesame Chicken

KFC introduced a new flavour, Honey Sesame Chicken, in time for CNY.

It's their spicy chicken marinated with fragrant sesame and drizzled with honey and sesame seeds. Also new are their Spicy Hot Shots, which are like spicy version of Popcorn Chicken.

Prices range from $8.50 for a two-piece meal to $39.90 for a New Year Feast.

4. Long John Silver's Springtime Salmon

Nothing like salmon to usher in a year of excess.

Long John Silver's is offering their Springtime Salmon range of meals: Salmon Deluxe ($11.90), Salmon & Shrimp ($8.90), and Salmon & Chicken ($8.90).

You can also get discounts on their Springtime Salmon meals by using their coupons.

5. Pizza Hut's Pizza Huat Blossom

Not only is this pizza's crust stuffed with cheese, it's also blossom-shaped, and wait for it... garnished with gold flakes to get you into the mood to "huat".

The pizza is also topped with chicken ham, turkey bacon, orange slices, mushrooms, capsicums and cream cheese ($28.80 for regular, $34.80 for large).

If you're buying a second Regular Favourite or Classic pizza, you can get the latter at $5.

6. Mos Burger's Hokkaido Salmon Rice Burger

This salmon burger comes with a big piece of salmon fillet and egg omelette sandwiched between two rice patties ($4.90). Add $1 to include the Prosperity Coin Hash Potato.
