Woman crashed car into overhead bridge in Jurong East after cockroach scared her

A 61-year-old woman crashed her car into an overhead bridge in Jurong East Central after seeing a cockroach in the car, The Straits Times reported.

The accident occured on Friday Jan. 26, around 7.30am towards Science Centre Road.

The red Mazda mounted the pavement with its front bumper rammed into the railing of the overheard bridge, causing it to be depressed and heavily damaged.

According to ST, the woman had lost control of the vehicle upon the shock of seeing the cockroach, and swerved into the direction of the overheard bridge.

She was reported to be alone in the car, and had only sustained minor injuries.

Her son arrived at the scene shortly after the accident, and the woman was taken conscious to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.

Police investigations are on-going.
