A foreign domestic worker climbed out of a window of a fifth-floor HDB flat and was seen inching along the exterior ledge of a block in Bukit Panjang on the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 6.

She was subsequently pulled to safety by police officers, a neighbour, and her employer after dangling from the railing for slightly more than a minute.

According to Channel NewsAsia, the nail-biting incident occurred at Block 241, Bukit Panjang Ring Road.

After a mis-step, the 24-year-old woman was left hanging precariously for around 20 seconds, supported only by her employer who was standing along the corridor.

That was when the first police officer rushed to their aid, followed by three more.

According to the report, the domestic worker was believed to have accidentally locked herself in a room, and had climbed out of the window in a bid to re-enter the flat through the main corridor.

Police told CNA they were alerted to the case at 8am, while the Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed no one was taken to the hospital.
